Products

Below are some day to day products I have purchased over the years. I’ll only ever recommend products I have used myself, which is why I try to use pictures of my own dogs. Clicking the pictures will take you to those exact products on Amazon or other webpages.

The Porch Potty! An incredibly stylish design, around a very functional product!

I now own two of these, one for indoors and one for my decking area. Having an elderly pug and a puppy sleep upstairs with you can offer a toileting challenge, and when the puppy starts eating disposable pads, you need alternative options!

The design of this fantastic, simply place a bowl under the grass, and it’s good to use. Of course, remember to clean the bowl each day and wash the grass once a week to save any unwanted smells.

The one I have outdoor is fantastic for pugs who hate the rain, and makes clean up super easy. It also saves my real grass from burns.

Pugs, with their fat little body and stick like legs, aren’t built well for jumping on and off the settee. I invested in a ramp several years ago, and it’s been an amazing addition to the house.

The picture shows Roo at 8 weeks, just two days in the house, and he’s mastered it!

Originally I purchased one that was more like steps, however I found this wavey design so much better for the pugs. It’s a cross between a ramp and steps meaning if they get tired they can stop for a break half way up!

Once this was in the house, it was rare my dogs used any other method to get on or off the settee.

I purchased these beds around 5 years ago, and they are still going strong! The picture was taken recently, and as you can see I use these both indoor and outdoor, yet they have stood up to the elements and the puppy teeth.

These are a Bedsure offering, with an orthopedic design. I can say from experience, they are incredibly comfortable. I’ve slept on these on the kitchen floor more than once when my dogs have been ill.

I love the comfort of these, and how light they are to move around, despite their size. The covers wash so well, and when placed in a kitchen, they aren’t high enough to block cupboard doors from opening!

This has been my go to bed over the last several years. I own them in various sizes, although the picture does show the new design.

Again these are orthopedic, meaning they are fantastic for your dogs joints, but these are thicker and offer a trim that Molly loves to use as a chin rest.

Much like the previous Bedsure bed, these have a removable cover that cleans up so well in the washing machine. I still have these for my pugs after 5 years of use, both indoor and on the decking, and they will no doubt last for years to come.

Molly has never been one for a long walk, and when she’s done, she just stops! As a single father, I didn’t want to be pushing a pram as well as having two dogs on leads, so I researched alternative.

Here’s Molly in her Ownpets Pet Sling Carrier! For reference, she’s 7.5kg, and a pretty standard pug size and shape. She fits in this sling with a little room to spare. As you can see, she was quite content in there.

The sling does claim it’ll support dogs up top 9kg, however after 20 minutes of Molly in there, I could certainly tell it was on my shoulder! Brilliant sling though, I always feel she is safe in there.

This is the harness Roo wears, you’ll see it a lot on my socials.

I’ve been impressed with it as it wasn’t expensive, but the build quality is solid. It has lots of options to adjust it to suit, and fits snug around the neck and body.

It’s pretty lightweight compared to others I’ve had, and cleaned up well in the washing machine after a fun day at the beach!

One great addition to this HEELE Dog Harness, it has a handle on the back! So providing you can catch your dog, you’ve something to get hold of while you clip the lead back on!

Safety First! It’s quite often I take my dogs out in the car, and like most dog owners, I want to make sure they are as safe as they can be.

Originally I used the the harnesses that go around the head rest, but then I found these.

There’s a slight bungie section to these that worries me when I read it, however having used them, I see the benefit, and see that it moves only slightly, just enough to take out the initial pull.

I love that these have the option of using a clip on the isofix (my preferred choice), or the seatbelt clip.

Without doubt, the best toy I have ever bought my dogs!

This octopus is pretty large, but also reasonably light, meaning even as a puppy Roo could drag it around (at a push).

I’d bought one pretty much the same when Molly was a baby 13 years ago, and all my dogs loved to play with it then. This is Roo’s favourite toy!

The head is stuffed slightly, but contains a honk squeaker. The tentacles are hollow but have a wrinkly product inside, so they make a crinkling noise, and the “feet” contain squeakers too!

Brilliant toy, with no plastic eyes for him to chew out!

Waterproof Blankets! These blankets contain a thin plastic sheet inside them, to stop any liquids getting through, and I can tell you from experience, they work!

I purchased these when Frankie lost control of her back end, to protect against any accidents, but found they were super useful in the dogs bed in general, plus on the settee to cover against dribbling, or puppy accidents.

I have these in various places around my house. They are really comfortable, soft, fluffy blankets, that don’t lose their quality after a wash.

The donut bed. You’ll have seen there are so many options for this type of bed, several of which I have purchased and regretted.

This is the only one I’ve purchased that has stood up against the dogs and the washing machine, which is why I recommend it.

These are fantastic for your dog to snuggle into, and can help with any anxiety, which is why I now use them as a base on car trips (and because Roo eats any other beds/seats I put in there).

The size I have for my pugs is the 60cm one. It is beige, but any time I take a picture of it, it seems to appear somewhat pink!

While not specifically a dog product, my life would be so much worse if I didn’t have a Roomba! (other brands are available).

As a pug owner, you’ll know all to well the amount of hair they like to strategically place on the floor, the settee, the walls, the ceiling, your clothes…

I set my Roomba to run each day, and rarely have to get the vacuum out myself. It’s an absolute god send to have one of these, and if your worried, my dogs have never been scared of it, or attacked it, they generally just ignore it.

Worth every penny to own one of these!
